So I was looking through some zoning maps of a small subdivision where i used to live. There used to be a ton of stuff there. I know there were tons of musicians and i know most of them still live there. Well there is an old gas station sort of tucked back into a street that recently got rezoned into residential. Well i drove by there, i was curious, and it is for sale by the government. I called. It is going on sale for about 10,000 since no one uses it.
Long story short i called up some buddies and they all had an idea of turning it into a studio. Together we all have the equipment, besides sound proofing, to start it up. It has a back room large enough for a band. The floor is large enough for a band. Well we are just tossing around the idea of doing it. Maybe charging each band that comes in about 30 an hour.

This is a bad idea, albeit a cool one.

You need a large amount of start up capital to do something like that. It will be years before you make a return, you might not even be friends by that time.

Nah we have been friends since kindergarten. I hopefully don't think we are going anywhere. Yeah i know the risks. Without any business background it would hard to start up even a home guitar tech job. Lol. But then again without the risks you have no margin for gain either. Playing it safe will only get you so far

I highly recommend you don't go through with it.

It was mostly for shits and giggles honestly. IF we really had the time to sit down and research what we are getting ourselves into, i would. But not now

Okay, good to hear. One day I want to do a convert like that, but with an old train station instead.

That sounds like fun. So the ideas you guys hear about, are about 5% of the ideas i have daily. Even then i dont say that much. I remember last may i was floating around an idea to make a guitar factory. Something small but usable. Everyone loved it and even chimed in everytime i posted a new floor plan.

I remember that.
You talk about crazy plans as much as I talk about buying gear.

What about discounted study time. You log 10 hours a week, you receive a hundred bucks off each class.
