I love to do this to people. Tell me why you prefer one over the other.. But then tell me how the one you do NOT prefer, could actually benefit the kind of music you play. Go go go!
HINT: You'll be surprised what you can find out by watching some reviews.

Solid State, cheaper, more amp modes.
I play blues, metal, and rock so it obviously benefits for the amount of distortion you can get out of it.

I like my tube amps. I love the amount of saturation you can get my cranking a low wattage tube head.
I do however, like the clean headroom offered by solid state amps. I like the Fender FM212.. And will stand by my statements that it will one day be in the same league as the Roland JC120. The modeling stuff is beneficial as well.. Just because It's so damn convenient to have a quality MFX board.

Tube saturation sounds better to me. And I like the way a tube amp responds to your playing, breaking up the harder you play if its just on the verge. Like a Stevie tone.
I think solid state crunch sounds like a distortion pedal. Because it is. And I hate it. Sounds like damn bees. But solid state cleans if you want PURE clean are amazing.

I love tube, as 2 out of my three amps are tube, but the Frontman 212r I have, I love as well. And its a solid state. The gain channels kinda suck without an eq, but I upgraded the reverb, and that made the amp itself sound a helluva lot better. I use it for my SRV style stuff and it is great. All I do is boost it with a tubescreamer for a little tiny bit of dirt.

Can't you get a hybrid? ahahahha
Seriously though, I know quite a lot about guitars, but really very little about amps.

Hybrids aren't the greatest...

Hybrids are okay in that you're at least getting the tube pre-amp. The little Orange 20w hybrid head the micro terror, that's actually a pretty damn good little head.

I was just throwing it out there. I've only ever play one solid state amp. I've only ever play one amp for that matter.

Well you know what G, stop throwing things. Every time you do, someone gets hurt. Next time it could be someone important.
