I have also learned, that there really is no "volume" control. The master volume, preamp volume, and level knob are all just adjustments to the tone/gain. There is one volume... LOUD

Nono. it IS a "Master Volume" Marshall. The non-master Marshall's, literally... Don't have a Master Volume. They just have Vol 1, Vol 2, etc etc.
I do get what you're saying, though, lol.

The 1959 Model like I have usually sell for $1500.. So yeah, $1300 is a bit of a discount.. Especially when you consider how difficult they are to find unmodified, lol.

Yea, I know it technically is a master volume, but to me, it really doesn't work like a legit volume control. Maybe cause it only sounds good to me once its about 3 oclock ish??? I dunno.

So, I am kinda just going to reiterate what this thread originally stated, but I feel its necessary. When I first got the JCM 800, I felt that it wasn't quite what I was expecting. Then, around the time I posted this thread, I felt I enjoyed it more. Now, I am happy I stuck with it, because I am absolutely loving the amp. I now completely understand how to use it to its full potential, and I think thats why I had problems with it before, but now Im happy.
I already posted somewhere that I recently became a member of the Marshall Forum, and I am told that I should do a cap job because of its age. Yea/Nay?
