so i wanted to get one for my strat. i like alternate tunings, but with a trem bridge it's a PITA. until i get another guitar wih a fixed bridge, this is my solution.
thing is, i live in canadia. and that means that anything i order comes across the border by ups. musician's friend lists the tremol-no @ $39+tax. a good deal if you live in the states where shipping is free. but here, ups charges you $30 for shipping, and $30 brokerage fee. total cost ends up over $90! for something that is the size of half a pencil and comes shrink wrapped to a pc of cardboard. so i go to my local place and try to order from them. well, they want $75+tax. add in my bus fare and guess what? IT'S THE SAME FRICKIN PRICE!!!. so a guy from another forum will ship me one from inside canada after bringing one across for me. one of the sucky things about living here is that everything is twice the price of what is in the states, and for no good reason.

I'm not exactly sure what our great neighbors to the north gouge prices for. I mean it'd make sense if they were trying to help competing businesses in Canada keep up with imported products but...I can't remember the last time I read "Made in Canada" on a damn thing.

It's the same with U.K. When postal services want to, they have a fucking field day with their charges.
