I found a Craigslist gem. 2004 Mexican Telecaster with a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound pup in the bridge. $200, sounded like a good deal to me. Few knicks and dings in the body. Nothing that bothers me. Mechanically sound. Needed a damn good cleaning though. I don't have good before shots of the guitar but believe me, it took a good bit of work. Nothing some damp rags and some turtle wax couldn't remedy. Got the frets all polished and degrimed. Looks basically brand new now.

Then I upgraded to some GFS 59s in the red Strat. Then I tried to put a new bridge and trem block (ordered as "Mexican") in but it didn't line up. Makes me wonder if a Mexi neck was put on an American body. Hmmm...

Aaaaaand then I finished my pedalboard.

I like to play loud.

In that case, a MIM neck won't fit without routing. Pull the neck and you can find out. Happy new goodies day man!

When I bought a strat pickguard, MIJ,MIM and MIA all were different sizes.
