So, during my time away.. I have been thinking.. Perhaps we should take a somewhat different direction as a Guitar Forum. Seems to me that we either don't use or have minimal enough use of certain sections of the forums. Perhaps we should "dumb" it down, if you will. Make this place more like a.. Hangout, per se. I'm proposing that we take the RECORDING ROOM and minimize it. Still have all 3 sections there and available.. But make those 3 sections sub-forums within. Guitars, Amplifiers, Effects.. From GEAR TALK.. Squashed into a "Guitar Gear" section.. Again, keeping current forums in tact, but making them sub-forums.. Then keeping GENERAL as-is. I'm going to go ahead.. Just for now and make this change. Let's feel it out. I think it might almost "invite" in more.. As the forums won't appear to be as large.. And thus, making it seem more active as a whole.
Thoughts welcome.
EDIT: Also going to put some time into this one.. Gonna redevelop the forum look. I'm not going to try and throw something together quick. This might take some time.. But I do plan on keeping the header.. Things just need a bit more life. I won't be subjective.. Even if color choice isn't my first pick.
SO. If you see random things changing.. Don't worry.. It will end up working out to something.
EDIT 2: Also, I think I'm going to redesign the header to be resolution friendly. I usually come on this forum with my laptop hooked up to a 24" flat screen LCD and it looks fine. When I unplug it.. Again, on the 15" screen.. Looks fine. The few times I came on here on my tiny 11" netbook.. The header picture looks ridiculous. More so, the GuitarAve text does, as about 1/2 of it is cut off. So what I think I'm gonna do, is move the next on the header.. And perhaps add a little bit of color to it to match things a little bit. I don't plan on changing the actual image, though.
