So, I was watching something on youtube with joe bonamassa in it, and he mentioned the name, "Ry Cooder". Thats a name I hadn't thought about in a while... So I went and listened to some of his stuff to bring it all back, and I gotta tell ya, im hooked on "Feelin Bad Blues". This is one that Im going to have to try piecing together. Im not the best at slide yet, but I think ill manage figuring it out alright. By the sounds of it, I think hes either playin in open E or D, so ill start there. Its got kind of an amazing grace vibe to it if you ask me.
So yea, just figured I'd share that with yall.

Ah, thanks, but no thanks. Its better for me to learn it by ear. It helps me understand the piece better.

agreed, absolutely. but there are (for me) times when i can hear it all i want to, i have no idea how they did it. those times, tab is good, because it gets me "over the hump". back to the point where i can figure it out myself. but i agree that by ear is the best way overall. it's also part of what puts your stamp on a particular song. no one hears everything the same way.

I learn by TAB. I have a real hard time learning by ear. I have no idea why Learning by ear is a very important skill to learn. You should practice and develop it.

as a musician you should develop you're ear. tab has it's uses but 90% of them are wrong. or rather, have wrong spots in 'em. i totally get being a visual learner though. some people just are that way.
