i remember mtv before it was tv, how about that? before it was a channel, it was just a black screen, with a blue header that scrolled text telling you that a new music channel was coming. it played music all the time like the radio, but there weren't any commercials, or any dj or anything, just music. when it finally came on, they didnt have many videos, so they played them over and over. for a long while, tons of bands made mtv soley because mtv needed content. the remnants of my band were on there. my cousin's band was on there. the brother of a girl who tried to kill me twice was in a band that actually saw regular rotation for a couple years. but yeah, mtv used to be a really cool, commercial free, all music channel.
