"J.B. Hutto was never an official endorsee, but he’s often associated with a red Supro or Airline Res-O-Glas guitar,” Ivankovich says. “Hutto featured one on the cover of his Hawk Squat and Slidewinder albums. Jimmy Reed used many different Valco guitars and often played the J.B. Hutto model in the studio and live. Jack White re-invigorated the model when the White Stripes made their debut using the Montgomery Ward Airline Res-O-Glas guitar. White’s visibility has made this model the most collectible of all Airline guitars. Though not as high profile due to its rarity, the Airline Professional was gorgeous and, with its 3-pickup versatility, allowed players to shape almost any tone.” Photo by Chris McMahon.

It is alpine white. If im not mistaken, isn't korina the type of wood/ the style of the set up? I think one of the distinguishing factors is that v shaped plate behind the bridge.
Either way, doesn't make a difference to me. Hopefully can get it for cheap. I actually wanted that amberish korina originally, but all the Gibbys like that are special runs or what not and are upwards of 2k. SO I dropped down to epiphone and I couldn't find any that looked like that. But I dig the way this one looks. At the same time, I won't loose any sleep if I don't win the auction.

I can never place a Flying V on my lap. Always slides off. Beautiful guitar though I rarely play sitting down though, so it don't make a big difference to me. I prefered the feel of a flying v over the les paul for a couple reasons. On the LP, the upper register felt cramped. I didn't get that with the V. I also got plenty of sustain from the V. However, no more or less than the LP. As per my new thread, I did buy the Flying V, but not the white one. I bought the Dillion one.

i've never played dillion's vee, but i have owned/played the 335 and the LP. both were super but the Lp had better electronics. my 335 was an older one. i've owned a few vees, a kramer, and some copy of a gibson vee that had no name on the headstock, and an old guitar in the 80s i forget who it was but the headstock was an upside down vee. the kramer was literally the worst electric guitar i ever owned. oh wait! i think it was a dean! the other vee i mean. anyhow i liked it, but the no name one was the best player. but it sounded terrible until i replaced the pups/pots/caps. but something about that guitar just...fit me. everyone else hated it because it wasn't a sit down guitar. sam, you gotta hook the vee on your leg and tilt the neck up. play it like randy, it works. oh and all my vees were white because kk downing owned a white one during screaming for vengance tour. but more on topic, dillion makes good guitars, and if you email john dillion through his website (not the guy on ebay) he'll answer you himself. he's a cool player, and seems like a decent guy. as long as you're not worried about resale value, but want to get a really nice guitar, american dillion is worth considering. canadian dillion is a good guitar, but not the same level as american dillion. (the ebay guy sells american) some like his pick ups, some dont. but they wire almost everything with push/pulls.

I looked it up and found they are are really made in Korea, but that didn't bother me too much. I had read great reviews from many people, so I went for it.

I had read great reviews from many people, so I went for it. good for you! yes, the reason it is called dillion usa is because there is a canadian company also called dillion. they used to be partnered up until a disagreement occurred like they always do. both companies manufacture in korea but dillion usa is much more....higher end. also, he has a forum, but the last time i was there it was so quiet you could hear an ant walking across the carpet wearing tennis shoes. i'm really interested to hear your opinion when it arrives. please take lots of clear pics. like i said, i never played the vee but the ones i have played were nice, and were very well built. i really believe that 10 or 20 yrs from now, higher end korean guitars will be collectible just like japanese matsumoku guitars are today. the westbury deluxe i bought minty used w/case in '82 for $300, sells today in a lesser condish for $1200 - $1500. i see alot of the same features and qualities in korean guitars starting in the mid 90's, and improving since then. good thing you dont live in toronto. i'd be buggin you to let me try it out. hahahahaha
